While most Coachella Valley restaurants passed Riverside County health inspections this past week, one was downgraded, according to reports.
Palm Tree Palace in La Quinta received a "B" grade during its most recent inspection due to a number of violations, such as improper hot and cold food holding temperatures, lack of food separation and employees drinking at the cook line. The facility will be revisited and reinspected by inspectors in the coming days.
Here are the restaurants that were inspected in the Coachella Valley Sept. 11 through 17:
'B' grades
Palm Tree Palace, 79-660 Highway 111, Suite 103, La Quinta
- Inspection conducted Sept. 15
- Minor violations: Observed an employee drink from an uncovered drink at the cook line and place the drink on a shelf on the cold holding table; improper hot and cold food holding temperatures (raw meat and seafood, cooked noodles, bean sprouts out of temperature); dishwasher did not have chlorine and two whisks had built-up food debris on them; lack of food separation and possible contamination (various containers of food uncovered inside the reach-in refrigerator and cooler; container of raw meat stacked directly on an uncovered container of raw meat in the reach-in refrigerator; bags of frozen duck stored directly on walk-in freezer floor underneath shelves by entrance); and others
- "B" card posted and a reinspection date has been set
'A' grades
An “A” grade, or a score of 90 to 100 points, means a restaurant passed an inspection and met minimum health standards.
