The Coachella Valley will be cooling down throughout the week of Monday, Oct. 26, potentially ending with rain.
Sebastian Westerink, a National Weather Service meteorologist, told The Desert Sun that the Palm Springs area will experience typical fall weather over the next few days. NWS’ weekly forecast starts with temperatures in the upper 80s that gradually cool to the low 80s by Friday.
It’s starting to cool off, the meteorologist said.
“Temperatures (are) finally reaching down into the 80s in the Coachella Valley,” he said. “Pretty standard up until later this week when we’ll dip into the 70s through the weekend cause of the storm system.”
Saturday is expected to be in the upper 70s, and Sunday is expected to be even colder in the lower 70s.
Westerink said rain isn’t a 100% certainty, but it does look like it’ll be a wet Saturday and Sunday.
“Currently Friday evening through Sunday look to be the window to get rainfall,” he said.
Residents and visitors will start noticing more clouds in the sky around Friday due to a possible storm system moving through the area. October is usually sunny in Southern California, Westerink said, so it is early in the year for it to be gloomy.
