A handful of eastern Coachella Valley facilities failed their latest Riverside County health inspections this past week, according to reports.

Taqueria Allende and Tropicana Supermarket in Coachella and Goody's Cafe in Indio all received "B" grades during their recent restaurant inspections due to a number of violations. They were allowed to remain open because the violations did not require immediate closure, but each spot will be revisited by inspectors in the coming days.

Here are the restaurants that were inspected in the Coachella Valley Aug. 14 through 20:

'B' grades

Taqueria Allende, 49-715 Harrison St., Coachella

Inspection conducted Aug. 17
Major violation: Improper chlorine concentration used in sanitizer bucket
Minor violations: Server chewing gum while serving beverages to customers; improper hot and cold food holding temperatures (salsas out of temperature); improper cooling methods used for cooked rice, menudo and beans; oysters in the walk-in cooler missing shellstock tags; lack of food separation and possible contamination (several uncovered food items; soiled dishes near prep area; bin of raw chicken placed on top of a box of beers; square bin used as scoop); and others
"B" card posted and a reinspection date has been set

Tropicana Supermarket, 84-076 Avenue 50, Coachella

Inspection conducted Aug. 18
Major violation: Observed staff change their gloves without washing their hands at hand sink in meat department and return to handling meat products
Major violation: Observed 20 packages of thawed, not frozen, reduced oxygen packaged raw fish stored inside meat display cooler
Major violation: Observed staff to be utilizing scented bleach as a sanitizer
Minor violations: Hand soap and paper towels missing at a few sinks, and some sinks blocked by items; some sinks did not reach minimum hot water temperature requirements; tray of raw meat stored above a package of classic franks in walk-in cooler; cups utilized as scoops in containers of seasoning; and others
"B" card posted and a reinspection date has been set

Goody's Cafe, 82-900 Avenue 42, Suite A, Indio

Inspection conducted Aug. 20
Major violation: Cook washing hands without hand soap for a duration less than 15 seconds; front cashier attempting to put on gloves without washing their hands first
Major violation: Improper hot and cold food holding temperatures (cooked sausages, container over filled with raw shell eggs, sliced tomatoes, cooked chicken out of temperature)
Minor violations: Employee dumped contents from personal coffee cup in handwashing sink; lack of food separation and possible contamination (uncovered, open containers of guacamole, dressing and chicken strips; several raw items stored directly above ready-to-eat items); and others
"B" card posted and a reinspection date has been set
