No Kings 4.0 is coming, with a twist.
A fourth round of nationwide No Kings rallies are scheduled for Oct. 17, and Wilmington is included.
The No Kings movement opposes President Donald Trump’s administration. Its slogan is, “No Thrones. No Crowns. No Kings.” The logo features a black crown marked with a red “X.”
No Kings: Vote Early Wilmington, NC is set to start at 10 a.m. at 1898 Memorial Park.
The local event is supported by Indivisible Wilmington, ILM Action Network, Women Organizing for Wilmington, Indivisible Actions SE NC, the National Black Leadership Caucus SE and other organizations.
Mobilize.us listed 65 events in North Carolina as of Oct. 9. Thousands are expected nationwide.

What is different about this round?
According to nokings.org, the goal is to help generate the largest
early-vote turnout in United States history.
Unlike previous No Kings rallies, organizers say the Oct. 17 events will emphasize voter participation by encouraging people to vote early in the upcoming mid-term elections.
No Kings rallies were previously held in Wilmington March 28 of this year, June 14, 2025, and Oct. 18, 2025.
Organizers say they remain committed to nonviolent action. No violence was reported at any of the earlier Wilmington rallies.
Are there other local protests planned?
A No Kings: Vote Early event aimed at early-morning dog walkers is planned in Sunset Beach from 8-8:30 a.m. The location was listed on mobilize.us as “private.”
Organizers say the Sunset Beach gathering will focus on sharing information about early-voting rules, dates, identification requirements and polling locations. Participants will also be encouraged to discus their own plans to vote.
