Wilmington police identified the victim in a fatal hit-and-run collision on 17th Street.
In a Sept. 8 news release, the Wilmington Police Department identified the victim as 58-year-old Dexter Faulk.
Officers responded to the 1200 block of South 17th Street around 2:46 a.m. on Sept. 6 after a reported hit-and-run involving a pedestrian, according to a Sept. 6 news release.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. As of Sept. 8, the investigation was ongoing, and anyone with information is encouraged to call the Wilmington Police Department or use Tip 411.
The Wilmington Police Department said this was the second pedestrian fatality occurring over Labor Day weekend. A 33-year-old man was killed after being struck by a vehicle on Sept. 4.
