Some popular Wilmington restaurant brands are expanding. That includes a downtown burger spot, and a second location for Seoul Sushi and Korean BBQ. Yes, the time has come for a soft opening, and then a grand opening on Sept. 8 for this food truck and eatery in Wilmington’s Cargo West food hub from Sang Woo and Adam Woo. The new restaurant is at Oyster Creek Landing in Hampstead and you can find sushi rolls, bibimbap, and more. And read below for more of this week's food news.

Yes, chef
Fieri spotting: It looks like a production associated with a certain spiky haired celebrity chef is coming to Wilmington for filming. Of course, there's a lot we don't know, but he is for sure going to be at the opening of a Guy Fieri's Downtown Flavortown Myrtle Beach next week.
Pastry power: The latest Chef Showdown, North Carolina's statewide culinary and mixology competition, offers a night of bites and sips in Durham -- and a healthy Wilmington finalist contingent. That's especially true with three of five pastry chefs in the finals representing local restaurants. And one of them took home the top award. Here's a look.
From coffee to cafe: From what I understand, it's taken a little while to work out the details for this new dinner series. But the first one is on the books. This chef's Bite Club will offer about four dinners a month, and special events. Check it out here.
