A man found suffering from a gunshot wound at an Ogden home where a woman was found dead has also died, a New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson said.
Deputies responding to a 911 call found a dead woman inside a residence at 7814 Sanderling Place on the evening of Aug. 11. Linda Bullington Anderson, 86, had a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the sheriff’s office.
Jack Mitchell Anderson, 87, was also found at the home off Marsh Oaks Drive and taken to Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, where he was in critical condition, according to First Lt. J.J. Brewer, public information officer for the sheriff’s office. Brewer confirmed that Anderson has since died. He did not provide
further details.
The sheriff’s office said the case was being investigated as a murder and attempted suicide.
