What do you get when you take craft beer and combine it with disc golf? For some, the answer is a good time. For Good Hops, a taproom in Carolina Beach that employs that exact formula, the result is national recognition for having one of the best disc golf courses attached to a brewery.
UDisc, the leading platform for disc golf, ranked the top 25 disc golf courses attached to breweries in the U.S. and Canada. Courses in four North Carolina cities made the list.
Trinity Disc Golf Course at Good Hops landed at 9th in the rankings.
Free fun
Good Hops is located off Harper Avenue in Carolina Beach. It's an 18-hole course packed into a small area, with the back nine consisting of a similar layout
but in the opposite direction. UDisc describes it as a "short, technical course" with a difficulty of easy-moderate.
For a disc golf course, it has a rather small footprint -- but this suits its unique location. Because all the holes are clustered together, people grabbing a drink at Good Hops can play a few holes without having to commit to finishing a full round.
The course is also free to play, meaning you'll only have to spend money on your drinks. Good Hops stocks a rotating menu of on-tap options.

Good Hops was one of four brewery disc golf courses in North Carolina to make the top 25 list. The others were:
