More details have been confirmed about a new grocery store coming to Scotts Hill. Publix confirmed it has executed a lease on a new location off U.S. 17 and Scotts Hill Loop Road. It will be the second
Publix in Pender County alongside a location in Surf City.
The grocery store will be part of the Shoppes at Blake Farm, a commercial hub located across from the Blake Farm development.
“We are excited to bring a new Publix Super Market to more customers in Wilmington,” said Publix Media Relations Manager Jared Glover. “We look forward to providing quality products, exceptional service, and a welcoming shopping experience to this vibrant community.”

How big will the Publix be?
The new Publix Supermarket will be 50,325 square feet, Glover said. The supermarket will employ approximately 140 associates.
Plans also show that the store would include a pharmacy drive thru. Over 350 parking spaces would be built to accommodate the entire shopping center, which will include much more than just Publix.
What else is coming?
While Publix will anchor the Shoppes at Blake Farm, other commercial buildings are included in the project.
Development plans for the Publix submitted to Pender County reveal a roughly 10,000-square-foot shopping center and two outparcels will fill out the commercial hub. While it isn't immediately clear what businesses will occupy those spaces, the plans indicate a gas station a "coffee/donut shop" could be going in.
When will Publix open?
According to Glover, an opening time frame has yet to be determined.
