A film permit for “Triple D Nation” has been submitted to the city of Wilmington. The project is a spin-off of the Food Network television series “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” hosted by Guy Fieri.
Filming is planned for Sept. 14 at The Copper Penny, 109 Chestnut St. in downtown Wilmington. Fieri visited the restaurant to film in 2018, and the celebrity chef and television host has also visited Fork n Cork, Ceviche's and Cast Iron Kitchen in Wilmington.
Now, Fieri will be close by. He is also scheduled to appear at a ribbon cutting for the Myrtle Beach location of Guy Fieri's Downtown Flavortown at 10177 N. Kings Highway on Sept. 10, according to a press release.
According to permit information, the Wilmington filming is expected to be a small production.
“Triple D Nation” follows Fieri as he returns to restaurants previously featured on his “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” series to see how they have changed.
