A business in the historic Murchison Building in downtown Wilmington is on the market. Pour Taproom, one of seven locations of a self-serve bar concept, opened in 2017 at 201 N. Front St.
Owner Brian Ballard has listed the business for sale, but Pour Taproom is currently open. The centerpiece of the concept is a 70-tap iPour self-serve draft system, but there is also a full-service bar and a craft cocktail program, said bartender Shelby Brayton.
The business is an 8,500-square-foot space that includes an upper-level lounge on the ground floor of Wilmington's first skyscraper, which was built between 1910 and 1912. The business is listed for $175,000 through MoMentum Companies.

“We are looking for the right concept for the space,” said Terry Espy, president of MoMentum Companies. She added that a family entertainment center, which typically combines beer, wine and cocktails with a food element as well as games like miniature golf or laser tag, would be something that could work and would be unique in downtown.
Pour Taproom started in Asheville in 2014 and is currently headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. There are also locations in Durham and Charleston.
Since opening Pour Taproom, Ballard has also become an owner at Ironclad Brewery. He has said that he’s also available for ongoing consulting for the new owners.
