The last full week without Wilmington-area high school football is among us.
After months of offseason and preseason buildup, the 2026 North Carolina High School football season finally gets underway with Week 1 action Friday, Aug. 21.
Now fans have one last preseason poll to weigh in on: The 2026 StarNews Wilmington-area High School Football Preseason Player of the Year Poll, which includes a record 51 nominees.
Vote now below as many times as you like until Thursday, Aug. 20 at 11:59 p.m. Results will be announced before kickoff of the 2026 season.
