A shuttered Wilmington grocery store will soon be repurposed as a medical spa with a variety of luxury treatments.
In a $7.5 million purchase, Wave Wellness has acquired the former Lowes Foods building at 805 Pine Grove Road, the company announced in a news release. The 46,000-square-foot building will be upfitted with $8.5 million in investments to become the company’s flagship home dedicated to “medical aesthetics, longevity medicine, fitness, recovery, beauty, nutrition and human performance.”
The facility is targeting an opening date of December 2026, according to the company’s website. The building has been vacant since the Lowes store closed in August 2024. New Hanover County property records show that Golden Ventures III purchased the property for
$5 million in November 2025 prior to Wave Wellness’ acquisition.
Founding memberships went on sale on Aug. 10 for $199 per month. Membership prices will increase to $299 per month, according to the company’s website. The company serves more than 1,100 clients throughout Southeastern North Carolina.
The new location will build upon the existing Wave Aesthetics med spa on Eastwood Road. The business currently offers injectables, skin rejuvenation, body contouring, laser treatments and medical-grade skincare. New clinical offerings will include hormone optimization, medical weight management, peptide therapies, IV nutrient therapy and comprehensive health optimization.
At the new facility, members will have access to strength and cardio equipment, yoga and Pilates studios, sauna and steam suites, hot and cold contrast therapy, red light therapy, personalized nutrition coaching, advanced recovery services and a professional co-working space.
Beyond the traditional offerings of a luxury spa, the location will also feature a culinary wellness café with a full bar. Beauty services such as hair and nail care, as well as private bridal suites, will also be available. A luxury space for bridal parties, private events, celebrations, corporate gatherings and wellness experiences will also be located on the campus.
The facility will also introduce Wave Performance, a specialized athletic development program designed to support youth, high school, collegiate and professional athletes. Through individualized training and performance coaching, the service will assist clients in recovering from injury or making measurable improvements in their fitness journey.
