There were a number of big-time performances in the second week of the high school football season in the Greater Savannah area.
Bethesda Academy came through with a big win at Savannah Christian as the Blazers scored a last-minute touchdown to pull out the victory at Pooler Stadium.
Benedictine bounced back in a big way from its loss to Toombs County in its opener and dominated in an impressive victory over visiting Hebron Christian.
Calvary Day beat visiting Jenkins in a matchup between a local private school power against one of the top public school teams in the Coastal Empire.
Windsor Forest won its second straight behind a memorable performance by junior quarterback Jayden Martin, who picked up an offer from Wake Forest over the weekend.
There
were some exceptional individual performances on the football field Friday night, and others in volleyball and cross country last week.

Jordan Turner, Bethesda
The junior was 17 of 33 passing for 280 yards and the three touchdowns and ran for 172 yards and a score on 14 carries in the win over Savannah Christian.
Khloe Jesswein, St. Andrew's
The junior racked up 16 kills with 11 digs and a pair of aces as the Lions beat St. Vincent's 29-27, 25-22, she added nine kills and eight digs as St. Andrew's beat Savannah Country Day 29-27, 26-24.
Morgan Stringer, South Effingham
The senior had 15 kills and eight digs in a win over Glynn Academy. She leads the Mustangs (14-5) with 186 kills.
Stanley Smart Jr., Benedictine
The Virginia Tech bound senior rushed for a career-high 192-yards with two touchdowns on 13 carries in a win over Hebron Christian.
Jayden Martin, Windsor Forest
The junior helped the Knights iomprove to 2-0 for the first time since 2017 as he completed 12 of 20 passes for 199 yards and three touchdowns with an interception, while rushing for 109 yards and two scores on 12 carries in a victory at Tattnall County. Martin picked up an offer from Wake Forest over the weekend.
Francie Tedder, Savannah Arts
The senior helped lead the Panthers to the team title at the Frazier-Hite Invitational Cross-Country meet as she won the individual title with a time of 21:10.97 on the 3.1 mile course.
Jah'Barri Felix, Bradwell Institute
The senior was 14 of 16 passing for 235 yards and five touchdowns, and ran for 17 yards and another score as the Tigers improved to 2-0 on the season with a win over Wayne County.
Zhyir Witcher, Bethesda
The senior had eight catches for 130 yards and the game-winning touchdown in the final minute of the victory over Savannah Christian.
Omari Burse, Benedictine
The senior was 11 of 15 passing for 210 yards and five touchdowns in a win over Hebron Christian.
Cameron Keeve, Bradwell
The senior had 197 all-purpose yards as he ran for 99 yards and scored three touchdowns in a win over Wayne County.
Chloe Adkins, Effingham County
The senior finished second at the Frazier-Hite Invitational with a time of 21:52.70.
James Mobley IV, Calvary Day
The senior was 10-for-15 passing for 162 yards and three touchdowns in a win over Jenkins.
Brielle Allred, Richmond Hill
The junior had 10 kills in a win over Colquitt County.
Gunner Mobley, Richmond Hill
The senior was 8 of 12 passing for 122 yards and a pair of touchdowns and ran twice for 20 yards and a pair of scores in a win over Liberty County.
Walter Yang, Savannah Arts
The senior helped lead the Panthers boys team to the team title at the Frazier-Hite Invitational Cross-Country meet by finishing second individually with a time of 18:43.33 on the 3.1 mile course.
Brynley Jordan, South Effingham
The junior setter had 19 assists and six aces in a win over Long County.
Matthew Dillon, Effingham County
The sophomore was 22 of 28 passing for 226 yards and a pair of touchdowns in a loss to Tift County.
Jackson McClure, South Effingham
The junior had six catches for 118 yards and a score in a win over Johnson.
Caden Godbee, Savannah Christian
The junior was 11 of 21 passing for 171 yards and two scores in the loss to Bethesda.
Eron Mallard, Benedictine
The senior had four catches for 137 yards and three scores in the win over Hebron Christian.
