Young artists now have a chance to gain a bit of notoriety for their work and to have it seen by many fellow Georgians.
Wildlife Forever's national Fish Art Contest
is back on with Georgia as one of the hosts. Students have been challenged to create original, hand-made illustrations (no digital or AI entries allowed). Those in 4th grade and above will also submit a brief piece of creative writing to showcase their knowledge.Competitors will be broken up by age into five categories: Kindergarten, grades 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, and 10-12. Winners will be selected in each category. There will also be specialty awards, like the "Great Lakes Fish Award" for Great Lakes species or the "Invader Crusader Award" featuring native and invasive species. Top entries
will be displayed at the Go Fish Education Center in Perry.
All entries are due by Feb. 28 and must be submitted digitally or mailed to Chrystal Sherwood / Go Fish Education Center (1255 Perry Parkway, Perry, GA 31069). More information is available at gadnr.org/fish-art-contest-now-open-entries.
