State police continue to investigate a 2022 shooting death in southern Hampton County, but no arrests have been made and police say help is needed from the public and the Estill community.
In early 2026, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) issued a statewide release stating its agents continue to investigate a fatal shooting that occurred on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022, that killed Devin White, 24, and the agency was offering a cash reward.
Last week, SLED issued a new statewide bulletin, stating the agency "continues to follow leads regarding anyone who may have been involved in the incident," and is looking to speak with anyone who has information regarding the incident.
The shooting occurred at a home on Sprayfield Road in Estill,
stated the SLED release, which added that White sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

A cash reward is available for information that leads to an arrest, stated SLED.
The Estill area and nearby portions of southern Hampton County have seenmultiple shooting incidents in previous years, including several to end 2025 and into the first part of 2026.
Hampton County Sheriff Anthony Russell held a press conference earlier this year to address the problem, citing a gang violence connection involving young adults and juveniles.
