What is the story about?

Ever been to the Georgia National Fair? While it's not technically called a state fair, it is a 10-day, state-sponsored fair that's been a fall tradition in Perry since 1990. This year's theme is "America250: Georgia Grown," celebrating Georgia's agricultural industry.

What is at the Georgia fair in Perry GA?

There will be more than 60 different rides and attractions including at least one roller coaster, bumper cars, tilt-a-whirl, and slides.

A variety of competitions are being organized, from "traditional" fair fights like a corndog eating contest and livestock shows to a photography contest and a creative writing competition. There will even be llama show.

Patrons will have plenty to shop for, with 80+ indoor vendors and 70+ outdoor vendors. That's not including the dozens of dining vendors for when you're hungry, with new additions including:

George's Fun Foods Gyro
Hardy's Peanuts
Polar Bear Ice Cream - Tanghulu
Quality Food International - Seafood
TBH Group Holdings - Dragon's Breath (liquid nitrogen ice cream)

When does the Perry fair open?

The opening day of the fair is Thursday, Oct. 8 and will run through Sunday, Oct. 18.

Perry fair times

Opening day's gates open at 3 p.m. The overall fair's hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. The carnival midway is open noon-11 p.m. Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday-Sunday.

Perry fair tickets

Prices vary widely depending on when you book, age, if you're going on rides, etc. Online tickets bought in advance cost $15 for those 11 and older, $5 for ages 3-10, and it's free for younger children.
