Georgia Power makes $7.3 million purchase in Savannah's east side

The Georgia Power Company recently made a new splash on Savannah's east side.

The company purchased three acres for $7.3 million in the 2600 block of Causton Bluff Road on July 22, according to the latest round of property transfers

. The property is located at the intersection of Capital Street and Causton Bluff Road, adjacent to the Savannah-Chatham County Public School Board's Whiteney Administrative Complex.

The site is currently zoned for light-industrial.

"Georgia Power regularly buys and sells property across the state as we plan for potential expansion or enhancement of the power grid to serve customers or for other business needs," said Georgia Power's Coastal Georgia spokesperson Joshua Peacock in an email. "Building and maintaining the energy

infrastructure that powers homes and businesses across Georgia requires careful planning."

There was also a $10 million sale for 11 acres near Pooler Parkway and Old Quacco Road. The property was purchased by TTRES GA Pooler Mosaic, LLC, a company registered at the same address as Indiana-based developer Thompson Thrift. The company has a large mix of residential and commercial properties listed in its online portfolio.
