
The Savannah Police Department has arrested a 17-year-old in connection with a shooting that injured a male juvenile on Aug. 18, according to a community announcement.
Officers responded to the 1200 block of E. 71st St. around 4:39 p.m. after receiving a report of gunfire. Upon arrival, they found the juvenile inside a residence with a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to Memorial Health University Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Demetric Hamilton was taken into custody on Aug. 21 and charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, according to the announcement. He was transported to the Chatham County Detention Center.
