Three Georgia cities land on list of country's best places to live

in May, U.S. News & World Report released its list of the top cities to live based on affordability/cost of living, quality of life, desirability, and the job market.

Three in Georgia made it in the top 50. Each was given a state and national score calculated using the Census, Federal Reserve, local and state sources, and other databases.

These are the best places to live in Georgia, ranked by US News

1. Johns Creek (No. 5 in US)
2. Alpharetta (No. 34 in US)
3. Roswell (No. 44 in US)
4. Smyrna (No. 148 in US)
5. Warner Robins (No. 168 in US)
6. Dalton (No. 203 in US)
7. Columbus (No. 272 in US)
8. Rome (No. 292 in US)
9. Macon (No. 293 in US)
10. Athens (No. 381 in US)

These are the top 10 places to live in the US, ranked by US News

1. Carmel, IN
2. Fishers, IN
3. Flower Mound, TX
4. Ankeny, IA
5. Johns Creek, GA
6. Hoover, AL
7. Rochester Hills, MI
8. Leander, TX
9. Frisco, TX
10. Sugar Land, TX
