Week 7 of the high school football season in Georgia is in the booksand there were some notable games played in the Greater Savannah area on Friday, Oct. 2.
Benedictine rolled to a 48-10 win over visiting Evans in a Region 1-5A matchup as veteran coach Danny Britt reached a career milestone with his 200th career victory.
Calvary Day went on the road and took care of business at Metter
as senior quarterback James Mobley IV threw for a career-high five touchdowns.Bradwell Institute quarterback Jah'Barri Felix had a big-time performance of his own as the Tigers scored more than 45 points for the fourth time this season in a win at Brunswick.
Liberty County edged Windsor Forest in a thriller at Groves Stadium and South Effingham improved to 5-1 on
the year with a win over Lakeside-Evans.
Here's a look at the scores and highlights of high school football games involving Savannah area teams in Week 7.
Calvary Day 54, Metter 7
The Cavaliers went on the road and rolled to a Region 3-2A win at Metter.
Quarterback James Mobley IV had another impressive night as the senior was 13 of 20 passing for 311 yards and a career-high five touchdown passes.
Mobley IV connected with MJ Knight, the senior who has committed to Georgia Southern, for a pair of scoring passes and also had scoring strikes to Ty Pinckney, Jalen Hicks and Chummy Owens.
Emerson Lewis blocked a punt thatJeffrey McCormick scooped up and returned for his first career touchdown.
Freshman Braylon Brown added a touchdown pass to Preston McBride for the Cavs (5-1, 1-0), who are set to host Bryan County on Thursday, Oct. 8.

Bradwell 57, Brunswick 49
Bradwell hit the road and won a Region 1-6A shootout behind a big-time performance by quarterback Jah'Barri Felix.
The senior was 18 of 30 passing for 355 yards and four touchdowns and rushed for 123 yards and three more scores.
Senior running back Cameron Keeve rushed for 82 yards and a score on 15 carries and had a pair of catches for 22 yards.
Jacobi Pasley, the senior who has committed to West Virginia,had eight receptions for 206 yards and a pair of scores and ran for 23 yards on two carries.
Carlito Savea had five catches for 95 yards and a score and Tyson Spears had a pair of receptions for 27 yards and a touchdown.
Bradwell, playing under first-year coach John Adams,improved to 4-2 overall and 2-1 in region play. The Tigers have a bye next week and will host Greenbrier (2-4) on Friday, Oct. 16, in a Region 1-6A matchup.
Liberty County 24, Windsor Forest 19
Liberty County pulled out the win in a wild Region 3-4A matchup at Groves Stadium.
Windsor Forest had taken its first lead of the game on a 5-yard scoring run by Jayden Martin with 28.9 seconds left, but Aaron Brown of Liberty County returned the kickoff 64 yards ― setting up a 24-yard scoring pass from Jaeir Roberts to Myson Benjamin with 4.4 seconds left for the winning touchdown, according to Nathan Dominitz, who covered the game for the Prep Sports Report.
Liberty County senior Noel Best rushed for 135 yards and two scores on 25 carries before leaving the game with an injury in the third quarter.
Windsor Forest's Martin had another big game behind center. The junior was 8 of 17 passing for 163 yards and a score and rushed for 79 yards and the touchdown on 14 carries.
Dwane Franklin caught a 60-yard touchdown pass from Martin and added a 6-yard scoring run.
Liberty County improved to 3-3 overall and 2-0 in region play. The Panthers are set to host Long County on Thursday, Oct. 8.
Windsor Forest (3-2, 0-1) is set to face SE Bulloch (2-4, 0-2) on Friday, Oct. 9, at Islands High School Stadium.
South Effingham 46, Lakeside-Evans 21
Host South Effingham outscored Lakeside 32-14 in the second half as the Mustangs improved to 5-1 overall and 2-1 in Region 1-6A play with a victory on Friday, Oct. 2.
Senior Khyran White ran for 117 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries and sophomore Josh Mims added 58 yards and a touchdown on seven carries for the Mustangs. Kiran Boggess and Darius Lane also had touchdown runs for the Mustangs.
Sophomore quarterback Liam Coburn was 8 of 13 passing for 142 yards and two touchdowns.
Jackson McClure has six receptions for 108 yards and a score for South Effingham, and Semaj Caloun had a 26-year scoring catch.
South Effingham has a bye next week before a meeting at cross-county rival Effingham County (4-2, 3-0) on Friday, Oct. 16.
Bethesda 49, Camden Military 0
The Blazers bounced back from a loss to Savannah Country Day last week with a dominant performance to beat Camden Military on the road.
Jordan Turner was 4 of 7 passing for 112 yards and three touchdowns and added a 20-yard scoring run.
Joseph Adkins ran for 88 yards and a pair of scores on just two carries.
Ramir Richardson had a 20-yard scoring catch and Jaidyn Jones added a 15-yard touchdown catch, while MJ Scott had a 30-yard scoring reception.
Anthony Cook helped led the defense with five tackles and a 45-yard pick six for the Blazers (4-1), who are set to host Hilton Head Christian (5-1) on Friday, Oct. 9.
Savannah Christian 44, Savannah High 0
Savannah Christian rolled to a Region 3-2A victory on Thursday night against host Savannah High.
Sophomore running back Wesley Dinkins rushed for 144 yards and a pair of scores for the Raiders and senior Landon Tyson added a pair of rushing touchdowns with 24 yards on four carries.
Caden Godbee was 9 of 15 passing for 134 yards and a scoring pass. Senior William Bucey, who is on a recruiting trip at South Carolina on Saturday, Oct. 3, had four receptions for 77 yards and a touchdown.
Sophomore Jameer Jackson had nine tackles and an interception for the Raiders. Junior linebacker Aiden Frazier had 12 tackles and Ivyn Richardson added eight stops for the Raiders (2-4, 1-0) who are set to Metter (0-6, 0-1) on Friday, Oct. 9, at Pooler Stadium.

Tattnall County 31, Islands 14
Host Islands lost a Region 3-3A matchup with Tattnall County.
Islands running back Nathan Tulloch had a 26-yard touchdown pass to Xavier Hughes on a jet sweep pass and Michael Cooler scored on a 55-yard run on a 4th and 1 as Islands took a 14-7 lead, but Tattnall scored 24 unanswered points to close things out.
Islands (3-3, 0-3) has a bye before hosting Toombs County (6-0, 3-0) on Friday, Oct. 16.
Pierce County 65, Beach 20
Beach went on the road and lost to Pierce County, ranked No. 4 in the state among Class 3A teams by the Atlanta Journal Constitution.
Jayvion Williams threw for 276 yards and a pair of touchdowns for Beach. The senior hit Willie Mayes Jr. for a 38-yard score and connected with Dionte Riley on a 40-yard touchdown.
Jacob Price had an 80-yard scoring run for Beach (2-4, 1-2), which is set to face Appling County (6-0, 3-0) on Friday, Oct. 9, at Groves Stadium.
Piedmont Academy 54, St. Andrew's 34
Piedmont Academy beat host St. Andrew's in a non-region matchup on Friday, Oct. 2.
Junior quarterback Pat Jackson rushed for 135 yards and a pair of scores for the Lions and Darius Chapman had a pair of receptions for 53 yards.
St. Andrew's (1-5) is set to play at Frederica Academy (2-5) on Friday, Oct. 9.
