Celebrate Dolly Parton with Run Katie Run at Tybee Post Theater
“Here I Come Again” is roots-rock band Run Katie Run’s tribute to the late, great Dolly Parton and her many contributions to the world. The band takes Dolly’s
greatest hits and adds their own flare to the country and pop classics, while lead singer Katie Coleman, who has often been compared to Dolly, enjoys adding fun trivia she’s learned about the superstar’s life. Run Katie Run has been performing at Dollywood, Parton’s theme park in Pigeon Forge, TN, for the past five years. Tickets ($34-$39 including fees) are selling fast at www.tybeeposttheater.org

Turn intentions into art at a Manifestation Jar Workshop
Explore creativity, mindfulness and personal goal setting in a Manifestation Jar Workshop! Part of Historic Savannah Foundation's Artisan Spotlight Series, this hands-on workshop will be led by Kelley Boyd, owner of Ordinary Magic. She will guide participants in creating a personalized manifestation jar using a thoughtfully curated selection of herbs, crystals, charms and other meaningful elements. Stacks Bookstore hosts second annual Banned Book Fair
During Banned Book Week (Oct. 4 through Oct. 10), the local, author-owned and operated independent Stacks Bookstore hosts its Second Annual Banned Book Fair. A community event mimicking a traditional schoolbook fair, you are invited to browse, shop, and celebrate books that have been banned or challenged in schools and public libraries. The American Library Association’s theme for 2026 is “Let Books Be. Protect the Freedom to Read.”

Meet the rescue dogs behind Savannah's 'Lonely Hearts' exhibit
Come to a free evening event at Starland Yard to see “Lonely Hearts” painted by generous artist Stephanie Forbes. Forbe’s portraits shine a light on the Humane Society for Greater Savannah dogs who are often overlooked for adoption. Some are seniors. Others have been waiting longer because of their temperament, history, medical needs or circumstances. At the heart of the project is an effort to bring people and dogs together outside of the shelter environment.
When one of the dogs featured in “Lonely Hearts” is adopted, their original portrait goes home with their new family free of charge; a permanent reminder of the story that brought them together. Guests can meet the dogs featured in the show, enjoy beverages, food trucks, community fellowship and support animal welfare. The event will also feature a collaboration with Alma del Jaguar Tequila, a conservation-minded tequila brand whose commitment to protecting wild jaguars and their habitats closely mirrors the philosophy behind “Lonely Hearts”.

Gather your mini-golf team to support this year’s United Way of the Coastal Empire Community Fund! The recent Campaign Kickoff announced a goal of $5 million and a theme of “Shine a Spotlight” under the leadership of Cecilia Tran Arango, Principal and Marketing Director at Thomas & Hutton. Play your part by joining the United Way’s Young Leaders at their annual Mini Golf Tournament featuring friendly competition, networking and plenty of fun for mini golfers of all ages.
