The race for Georgia governor is well underway, and Democratic candidate Keisha Lance Bottoms is on a tour across the southeast which started Wednesday.

This morning, Bottoms was at a "coffee and conversation" at Kinlaw Rosenwald School in Woodbine.
This afternoon, she will be in Brunswick for two events. The first is a healthcare roundtable at 12:30 p.m. at an undisclosed location. The second is at 6 p.m. at Selden Park Gym. Those wanting to RSVP can submit their info at keishaforgovernor.com/tour.
On Friday, Bottoms will be in Richmond Hill at a veteran's healthcare roundtable at 11:30 a.m. at an undisclosed location.
Finally, on Saturday, Bottoms will speak at the Georgia Democratic Convention at the Savannah Convention Center. She'll be part
of the morning session featuring multiple elected officials and nominees speaking from 9 a.m. to noon. Guest forms for the event can be found at georgiademocrat.org/2026-convention.

Keisha Lance Bottoms policies
Here are some of the highlights of Bottoms' platform:
- Education: Creating a path to free technical and community college, eliminating state income tax for teachers, and boosting literacy.
- Healthcare: Launching a rural care initiative, expanding Medicaid, ending Georgia Pathways, investing in maternal health including reproductive rights protections.
- Public Safety: Expanding GBI capacity, support university background checks, strengthen re-entry pathways, and invest in targeted violence reduction efforts.
- Small Businesses: Create an office of small business and a deputy commissioner for small business, expand small business loans and grant programs.
Keisha Lance Bottoms governor poll
The latest poll by State Navigate was released two weeks ago with nearly 450 likely voters surveyed July 10-13. They found Bottoms was ahead with 51% while Jackson had 44% and about 5% didn't know. There is a 4.6% margin of error.
Here's what the last two polls we reported on said:
- Fox News has Bottoms ahead at 52% with no accounting for undecided voters.
- Wick has Jackson ahead with 43.2%, Bottoms at 42.7%, and 14.1% undecided.

Bottoms was born on Jan. 18, 1970 and is therefore 56 years old.
Keisha Lance Bottoms net worth
The AJC did a net worth analysis on various candidates back in April. They said Bottoms reported a net worth of roughly $2.07 million, with $3.9 million in total assets against $1.83 million in liabilities. Her filing reportedly showed a portfolio built around real estate, including a primary residence in Fulton County, two metro Atlanta investment properties, and a property on Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts.

The Georgia governor election will be part of the midterms on Tuesday, Nov. 3.
