Savannah-Chatham County Board of Education Police Chief Terry Enoch is retiring, according to an announcement from the department Thursday.
Enoch served for over 40 years, according to the announcement.
“Chief Enoch’s career has been defined by commitment, leadership, sacrifice, and an unwavering dedication to protecting and serving our students, staff, and community,” read the announcement, which was posted to Facebook. “For more than four decades, he has answered the call to serve and has left a lasting impact on the department and the many lives he has touched throughout his career.”
Assistant Chief George Washington will be taking the helm as the department’s new chief.
“We look forward to his leadership as he guides the department into its next chapter while continuing the mission of protecting our schools, supporting our students and staff, and serving our community,” the announcement said.
