Little James' Tiramisu Martini is worth the hype
There’s been quite a buzz on social media recently as Little James (110 Ann Street, directly behind The Grey) brings back the delicious Tiramisu Martini. Created by bartender Joshua Davis, I wrote about this yumminess last August: “Several bars brag that their espresso martinis are the best in the city, but to my knowledge, Little James is alone in incorporating freshly drawn espresso from their own espresso machine. No cold brew, espresso liqueur, or canned espresso here! Davis dry shakes a double shot (2 ounces) of espresso, 2 ounces of a magically creamy mascarpone cheese, powdered sugar, fresh vanilla bean, and heavy cream concoction daily created by his barista, and 1.5 ounces of Tito’s Vodka. He then briefly chills it by shaking over ice and strains into a martini glass. A silky-smooth drink with a cream-colored head resembling the top of a freshly poured Guinness, he adds a cocoa powder heart as garnish and finishes the presentation with a lady finger, a beautifully tasty (but highly caffeinated!) tribute to the classic tiramisu dessert. Savannah, This is the best espresso martini in town.”
Little James is a café by day and a cocktail bar serving a simple Mediterranean menu at night: appetizers, flatbread, shared cheese and charcuterie, sandwiches, and salads. As if things couldn’t get any more luscious than their Tiramisu Martinis, check out their new “Flirty Fridays.”
Little James says, “Get a coffee for yourself and the second one is free on us. Instead of sliding into DM’s, slide someone a latte.” And “in the evening, come bring your crush on a date night and if you purchase cocktails you’ll receive complementary fries. Because things are getting serious when your relationship status is 'sharing fries.'”
