A man was arrested following a dispute that devolved into a stabbing and shooting over the weekend near the Ogeechee River, according to local law enforcement.
Around 6:45 p.m. on Sunday, Kevin Ramage, allegedly pulled up to a sandbar in the Ogeechee River near Shad Road on a jet ski and struck up a converstation that turned into a verbal confrontation with a man there, a Chatham County Police Department (CCPD) press release stated.
The man later told CCPD Criminal Investigations Division detectives that as he attempted to leave, Ramage stabbed him. The victim told detectives he fired his gun and struck Ramage before leaving the scene on his jet ski and meeting law enforcement and EMS at Morgan's Bridge.
Ramage, 47, was dropped off at a nearby
fire station for medical assistance, CCPD said, and transported to a hospital by an ambulance for treatment.
At the time of publication, CCPD said Ramage is in its custody and will be served with an aggravated assault warrant.
