Shoppers in Pooler can support local and national breast cancer initiatives through a monthlong fundraising campaign and a community event at Tanger Outlets Savannah beginning Oct. 1.
The outlet center will host its Pinking of the Fountain Garden Party from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 3, according to a community announcement. The event is designed to raise money for Keepers of the Flame, an organization that assists people affected by breast cancer.
Access to the garden party requires a donation to Keepers of the Flame. Attendees will be able to take part in children's activities, face painting, hair glam strands, a photo booth, refreshments and cookies. A raffle featuring donated prizes is also planned.
Organizers will hold a fountain-pinking ceremony
during the event. Guests also can make donations and receive TangerPink savings offers at participating retailers.
The event will take place at Tanger Savannah, 50 Yard Line, 200 Tanger Outlets Blvd. in Pooler.
Savings program runs through October
A separate fundraising effort will run from Oct. 1 through Oct. 31. Shoppers who donate $10 through https://www.tanger.com/pinktanger.com will receive a TangerPink Savings Pass that provides 25% off a single item at participating stores.
Crocs and HEYDUDE will offer 25% off an entire purchase through the promotion. Nike will provide $25 off purchases of $150, while Adidas will offer $25 off purchases of $125.
Funds raised through Tanger's online donation campaign support the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, which the announcement describes as the largest private funder of breast cancer and metastatic breast cancer research in the world and the highest-rated breast cancer research organization in the United States.
According to the announcement, all donations collected through Tanger's local and national breast cancer fundraising efforts will support breast cancer research and programs intended to improve outcomes and save lives.
Long-running fundraising campaign
The annual TangerPink campaign has raised more than $19 million since 1994, according to the announcement. Through a partnership with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation that began in 2011, Tanger has funded more than 97,000 hours of breast cancer research.
