Some of Georgia's biggest colleges once again received high marks from U.S. News and World Report.
On Tuesday, the platform released this year's list of the "best national universities" with Emory University in Atlanta landing at the top. The rankings were based on more than a dozen factors with the most weight going to peer assessments, graduation rates, and Pell graduation figures.
Why was Emory University Georgia's top national university?
Emory's nursing program tied for 1st. The school tied for 15th and 19th for its business programs and 'best undergraduate teaching,' respectively. It also ranked 19th in 'Best Value Schools' and tied for 21st among 'Top Private Schools.'
The four-year graduation rate is 82% and the six-year graduation rate is 91%.
The student-faculty ratio is 8:1 with 37% of first-year students receiving need-based financial aid.
