Tree Huggers and Beer Chuggers returns to Savannah
On Friday, Oct. 2 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., join the good folks of the Savannah Tree Foundation for Tree Huggers and Beer Chuggers. They are bringing together live music, local brews, and fresh barbeque for an evening dedicated to supporting our city’s incredible tree canopy. Shop Hester & Zipperer’s green space; challenge the kids to games; enter raffles for great prizes; and grab a plate and a glass to hang out with local tree lovers. Open to the public, the event is $35 for adults (includes all-you-can-drink beer and beverages), $15 for kids (includes all-you-can-drink sodas) and is free for under 5’s. Nearly 30 food trucks headline Eastern Wharf festival
Plan to grab lunch or dinner
at the Eastern Wharf's 3rd Annual Food Truck Festival on Saturday, Oct. 3! This free, family-friendly event showcases the growing depth and breadth of the region's food truck scene, offering a wide variety of cuisine and live music performances on the riverfront by Rockin' Scott & the Hot Shots, Little Gracie, Unifya as well as Damon and the Shitkickers. Attendees can also meet Savannah Banana players from 1 p.m to 3 p.m. and build their own trucker hat featuring an event-exclusive hat patch design by Mess Hall. Bring lawn chairs, blankets and small personal coolers and delicious food will be ready to order from almost 30 food trucks offering everything from wings to burgers, BBQ to tacos, pizza to lobster, and Kona ice to ice-cream cones. Low Country Taps mobile bar and local favorite Mint To Be Mojito's will also be on hand. The Festival runs from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Riverfront Lot at The Park at Eastern Wharf, 102 Port Street

Savannah Greek Festival marks 75th anniversary
Craving pastitsio, spanakopita, dolmades, Greek meatballs, or souvlaki? Or maybe you have a sweet tooth for baklava or flogeres? Make plans to attend the 75th Savannah Greek Festival from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Oct. 8, 9, or 10. With 75 years of tradition and good memories to build on, this event is an annual favorite! This year’s festival features Greek foods, Greek dancing, Greek music, tours of the beautiful St. Paul’s Greek Orthodox Church, and a Greek marketplace. Trivia buffs can compete weekly for prizes in Savannah
