
A precautionary boil water advisory is in effect for about 100 City of Savannah water customers after a water main was damaged during fiber installation work near E. Gwinnett Street.
The advisory affects homes in the area between Pennsylvania Avenue and Minnesota Avenue, according to a community announcement. Residents in the impacted area are being asked to boil water before using it for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, making ice or preparing baby formula.
Water should be brought to a rolling boil for at least one minute before use. Customers are being instructed to continue boiling water until the advisory is lifted.
City crews are working to restore water pressure following the water main break. The city thanked residents for their patience
and cooperation while repairs continue.

The advisory applies to specific customers near E. Gwinnett Street between Pennsylvania Avenue and Minnesota Avenue. The city said the affected area includes nearly 100 homes.
A map released with the announcement identifies the locations covered by the advisory.

Until the advisory is lifted, residents in the affected area should boil water before using it for:
- Drinking
- Cooking
- Brushing teeth
- Making ice
- Preparing baby formula
