Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia is hosting a mobile food pantry Friday at Memorial Stadium.
The event marks the start of Hunger Action Month. The drive-thru food distribution aims to provide fresh produce, protein and nonperishable foods to about 1,000 households in the Savannah area, according to a community announcement.
Food will be distributed at Memorial Stadium, 101 John J. Scott Drive, from 8 to 10 a.m.
Distribution is first-come, first-served
The distribution will operate on a first-come, first-served basis for Chatham County residents, according to the announcement. Participants remain in their vehicles and prepare space for volunteers to load food.
To enter the distribution line, drivers should turn right onto Eisenberg Drive from Skidaway Road southbound. They will then follow
the road to Varnedoe Drive, turn left onto Scott Drive and proceed right in front of Memorial Stadium.
