The Federal Emergency Management Agency awarded the city of Pooler a $1.9 million grant to develop a stormwater master plan. The funds were provided through the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program.
"This plan will build on the City of Pooler’s ongoing drainage infrastructure improvements through a full stormwater model and data analysis," reads a statement from the city of Pooler's website. "This invaluable information will be used to develop comprehensive framework for managing stormwater runoff and strategic stormwater drainage improvements."
The total cost of the project is nearly $2.6 million. The state's share is $259,439 and the city of Pooler has contributed $389,158. Funding includes management costs related to development of the plan.
