Savannah Stopover Concert Series Returns With Live Music, Food Trucks
Savannah Stopover Music Festival and The Park at Eastern Wharf are teaming up for the monthly Riverfront Concert Series! The next Monthly Concert Series is Friday, Sept. 11 from 7-10 p.m. and features Cordovas with Little Gracie! Cordovas are an Americana rock band out of Nashville whose sound has long earned
comparisons to The Band, Grateful Dead, and Crosby, Stills & Nash. Little Gracie is a Southern Rock band hailing from Savannah, GA, taking influence from the 70’s to the 2000’s to create a classic sound and an electrifying performance with their music. Food Trucks include The Big Cheese, Latin Chicks, Mac Attack, Royal Tasty Avenue, Rita’s Italian Ice, and drinks can be purchased from the mobile bar or from the Thompson Savannah. Attendees can bring small, personal coolers and are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets. There is paid street parking on site as well as parking in the Eastern Wharf garage.

Port Wentworth opens Vystar Pavilion, Ghost Pirates Ice Cove
It’s just a hop, skip, and a jump over to Port Wentworth for the City’s 912 Community Day and Ribbon Cutting opening celebration for both the Vystar Pavilion and Ghost Pirates Ice Cove! Come experience these brand-new ventures free of charge. The day kicks off at 11 a.m. with the ribbon cuttings, followed by an afternoon of live music, family-friendly activities, games, inflatables and bounce houses, crafts, local vendors, food trucks, a mechanical bull, food and beverage deals at concessions, Georgia football and specials at The Frozen Anchor Sports Bar and much more. And of course, there is public skating (first come, first served), Junior Ghost Pirates & Sirens exhibitions, figure skating exhibitions, and learn to play at the Ice Cove. Free family day brings hands-on activities to Maritime Museum
Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum launches interactive, hands-on activities throughout their galleries during a free-of-charge “Making Waves Family Day” which, fittingly, coincides with Grandparent’s Day. The nonprofit’s new Director of Education, Sonya Taylor Moore, debuts reimagined family experiences to get children and adults looking, making, moving, learning, and discovering together. Visitors might “Sketch Your Own Story” as they explore carved ship figureheads, navigate through a “Chart the Course” challenge, engage with Loop It Up Savannah and Deep Center volunteers on maritime themed activities or with GSU instructors on a fish printing project, and much more.

Family Day at Davenport House honors Savannah's Chinese history
Celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival at the Davenport House Museum with a free Family Day filled with hands-on activities, cultural performances, refreshments and fun for all ages. One of the most important holidays in many East and Southeast Asian cultures, the Mid-Autumn Festival celebrates the harvest, family reunions, and the full moon — a time for gathering, sharing food, and giving thanks.
The celebration also honors an important chapter in the Musuem’s history. From 1901–1902, the home was occupied by the Chan family, one of Savannah's earliest Chinese American families. Through this special partnership, guests are invited to connect with the museum's past while celebrating a living cultural tradition. Visitors will also can explore the return of the museum's acclaimed exhibition, “Old Chan Magic: Chinese Roots, Southern Branches,” which shares the story of the Chan family and Savannah's early Chinese community. And at 12:15 p.m. there will be the official opening of theSavannah Chinese Association’s new temporary photograph exhibition “Charming Savannah Seen Through Chinese Eyes”. Free and open to the public, thanks to generous support from the City of Savannah.

Explore Savannah's mid-century modern past with architecture expert
Fans of Mid-Century Modern architecture will not want to miss the next installment of Historic Savannah Foundation's lecture series. Jonathan Stalcup, a SCAD alumnus and founder of Architectural History Tours of Savannah, will discuss "Mid-Century Modern Savannah." Tickets are free for Historic Savannah Foundation members, $15 per person for non-members and available for purchase at myhsf.org/events/lecture-series. Guests are invited to attend a wine reception at 5:30 p.m. before the lecture.
