Forget calling room service when a craving hits. At one Savannah hotel, guests can scan a QR code and have warm Southern biscuits deliveredstraight to their door.
Southern Livingrecently highlighted the amenity at The Alida Savannah, calling the hotel's "Biscuit Button" a distinctly Southern hotel experience.
So, how does the Biscuit Button work?
Despite the name, guests won't find an actual button waiting on the nightstand.
Instead, the hotel uses a QR code that guests can scan with their phones to order directly from the kitchen.
From there, the biscuits are delivered warm to the guest's room.
Biscuits are available morning and night
The hotel offers different biscuit options depending on the time of day.
In the morning and afternoon, guests can order:
- Two warm buttermilk biscuits
- Served with butter and jam
- $10
- Available from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
For an evening option, guests can order a fried chicken biscuit:
- Fried chicken biscuit with pickles
- $13
- Available from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday
- Available from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday
Why did the hotel create it?
According
to Southern Living, the hotel's director of sales and marketing said the idea came from The Alida's culinary team.
The goal was to create something guests could enjoy from the comfort of their rooms while giving them a distinctly Savannah experience.

The Alida is located at 412 Williamson St., near Savannah's historic riverfront.
The hotel is steps from the Plant Riverside District and within walking distance of Savannah attractions.
