A wave of national restaurant chains is coming to Springfield, with Little Caesars now open in a commercial plaza on Highway 21 across from Parker's Kitchen. Wayback Burgers will be moving in next door and Zaxby's will be building a new eatery at a separate location.
Little Caesars officially opened Oct. 1. According to a company press release, the restaurant targets local families and workers seeking a quick meal. Customers can pick up prepaid mobile orders through the Pizza Portal, a heated self-service pickup station.
“We’re thrilled to bring the first Little Caesars location to the Springfield community,” said franchisee Jaymin Patel in a press release. “We look forward to welcoming our neighbors and providing the quality, convenience and value
that have made Little Caesars a favorite for families on the go.”

The Springfield location will serve some of the company's most popular menu items, including Caesar Wings, Crazy Puffs and Crazy Bread.
The restaurant employs eight crew members and is open from 10 a.m. until 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday.
According to a spokesperson for the company, Wayback Burgers is expected to open before the end of the year.
“Expanding to Springfield is an exciting milestone as we continue to grow our presence across Georgia,” said Patrick Conlin, President of Wayback Franchising LLC, in a press release. “We are proud to work alongside Hiral and Deep [Patel] to bring Wayback Burgers to the Springfield community and introduce guests to the bold favorites our brand is known for.”
The new eatery, located next door to Little Caesars, is expected to create 30 jobs. The company said guests will be able to watch food preparation through glass windows and choose from seating options including booths, floating tables and upholstered banquettes.
“My wife and I chose Wayback Burgers because of its strong brand identity, fresh menu items and commitment to classic American comfort food everyone can enjoy,” said Hiral Patel, local franchisee of Wayback Burgers Springfield in a press release. “One of our personal favorites is the Oreo Cookie Shake, and we’re excited for guests to try it when we open our doors to the Springfield community later this year.”
Lastly, site approval for Zaxby's is under review but a spokesperson for the city says construction is expected to begin this year. No timetable was provided. Zaxby's did not respond to our request for comment.
