After a month of erratic weather that included the remnants of a Gulf hurricane, followed by a record-setting warm spell, followed by a chilly plunge in temperatures, coastal Georgia is now looking ahead to its weather forecast for Halloween.
Halloween this year falls on a Saturday, which means more people will be out later into the evening. In Georgia, according to AccuWeather, residents can expect dry, mild weather—perfect for trick-or-treating. Savannah’s forecast is partly cloudy with a 21% chance of rain, a low of 64 degrees and a high of 77.
Such a forecast means that Halloween revelers won’t need to plan their costumes or activities around the weather; unlike
in the northeastern United States and down in Florida, where large bands of rain could disrupt festivities, or in parts of the Southwest and the Rockies, where mountain snow is expected. And in the western Gulf coast, they’re monitoring a tropical disturbance that could arrive just in time for Halloween.
Fewer ‘bone-chilling’ Halloweens in the forecast
Halloween nights in Savannah are on a warming trajectory that is reflected across the U.S., according to a 2024 analysis by Climate Central. The analysis found that October nights have warmed by 3.3°F on average in 216 U.S. cities (89% of 242 analyzed) since 1970, as the country experiences hotter weather overall due to climate change.
“Halloween is becoming less bone-chilling,” Climate Central meteorologist Shel Winkley said. “Climate change is taking this spooky holiday and making it a little less haunted, and a lot more heated.”

Since 1970, Halloween temperatures in Savannah have crept up by an average of 2.3°F. The warmest Halloween on record was in 2019, when the high was 90°F; the coldest was in 1963, when the low was 35°F.
