A new commercial district is taking shape in Heartwood, bringing more restaurants, retail and services to the rapidly growing Richmond Hill community as development continues to expand beyond housing.
“The Row is an exciting piece of the up and coming retail story here, and what makes it even better is thatthese businesses aren’t just serving Heartwood. They’re creating new jobs, new experiences and newchoices for all of Richmond Hill,” said Bill Cunningham, Vice President of Real Estate for Raydient, in a press release.
Residents and local officials gathered to celebrate the grand opening of The Row, a retail center at Exit 82 off I-95 South. Businesses setting up shop at The Row include Pin High Indoor Golf, Hawg’s Motorsports, FedEx, Keller
Wood Fire Pizza and LuFinity Nails.
The new storefront fulfills a long-held dream for Keller Wood Fire Pizza, which has operated from a food truck for the past four years.
“My husband always wanted to do a brick and mortar after the first year,” said Theresa Reeves. “We started getting so popular in what we're doing.”
The couple signed a lease for the space about a year ago, before construction was complete.
“It’s a breath of fresh air,” said Theresa’s husband James Reeves.
“I’m a little nervous,” said Theresa. “This is something new. It’s going to be our first restaurant. We have a new oven and we can put 15 pizzas in there at once.”
The couple hopes to open the restaurant in November.
Next door, Hawg’s Motorsports is also expected to open later this year offering golf cart sales.
After serving 21 years in the military, Ray Duran said he is looking forward to serving as manager of the store. He is eager to use his knowledge to help residents maintain and customize their golf carts.
“I own a golf cart and I take great pride in owning a golf cart,” said Duran. “People use golf carts as a way to socialize. It’s great to hang out on and know it’s a reliable thing.”
Duran said the location in Richmond Hill will carry 20-25 models in different styles and colors.
FedEx also plans to open a location at The Row, providing shipping and package pickup services.

The Row represents the latest phase of Heartwood's commercial expansion. Starbucks and Zaxby's have already opened nearby, while additional projects are in the pipeline, including a home improvement store, an assisted living facility and a new church campus. Developers say the growing commercial district is intended to provide services and amenities for the thousands of residents expected to move into the community in the coming years.
