The second of two bodies discovered in Beaufort County Aug. 30 was identified by the Beaufort County Coroner’s Office Friday, Sept. 18.
Calvin Armstrong, 32, of Beaufort, was identified as the person whose body was found in Chowan Creek on Aug. 30, Beaufort County Coroner’s Office Chief Deputy Coroner Shane Bowers said.
“His cause of death is pending autopsy results,” Bowers said. “There is no suspicion of foul play.”
The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident, Bowers said.
First body identified Aug. 30
The first body discovered in a different area of Beaufort County on Aug. 27 was identified Aug. 30 by Bowers.
The body of a Parris Island Marine who had been reported missing Aug. 27 was located three days later along the Broad River shoreline, according
to Bowers.
Yu Wei Huo, 33, was found deceased Aug. 30 around 12:15 p.m., Bowers said. The cause of death is pending an autopsy. The Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) is investigating the incident, Bowers said.
Huo was based at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, and he was last seen at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 27 around the Broad River Bridge, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office previously said.
