The 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11th terrorist attacks will be remembered by several local law enforcement, fire departments and other first responders during ceremonies planned in both Bluffton and Hardeeville.
The event in Bluffton will be held Sept. 11 at 8:30 a.m. at Buckwalter Place Park, Bluffton Veterans Memorial.
“The event will be held to honor the 25th anniversary of 9-11, honoring the 2,977 people killed in the terror attacks of Sept.11, 2001, at the World Trade Center, near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, and at the Pentagon,” a town spokesperson said.
The ceremony is set to include numerous Beaufort County agencies and schools as well as Bluffton officials who are scheduled to participate.

There will also be a Sept. 11 ceremony in Hardeeville
at 10 a.m. at Hardeeville Memorial Park.
The Hardeeville Police Department and the Hardeeville Fire Department will host the ceremony. The event will include honoring those who lost their lives as well as the first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice in the process of serving and protecting their communities.
South Carolina’s annual 9-11 Remembrance Ceremony
South Carolina’s annual 9-11 Morning of Remembrance Ceremony will be held beginning at 8:40 a.m. at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center in Columbia, S.C. The convention center is located at 1101 Lincoln Street.
The ceremony will include honor guard presentations, speeches from state and local leaders, memorial tributes to fallen South Carolina first responders and military personnel since 2001, live music and performances and special memorials.
