Georgiasaw two separate aviation incidents over the weekend, with a Delta flightreturning to Atlanta after fumes were reported in the cockpit and asmall plane crashing near a private airfield in Dawsonville the following day.
The incidents happened in different parts of the state and involved different types of aircraft.
The Delta incident ended with passengers evacuating safely at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, while the Dawson County crash left two people critically injured.

A Delta flight turned back to Atlanta
On Saturday, Aug. 8, Delta Flight 2204 was headed from Atlanta to Orlando when the flight crew reported fumes on the flight deck shortly after takeoff.
According to Delta, the Boeing 757 was carrying 199 customers and six crew members.
The crew declared an emergency and returned to Hartsfield-Jackson.
After landing, passengers and crew evacuated the aircraft using emergency slides on a taxiway.
They were then transported by bus back to the terminal. Delta said passengers were being re-accommodated on another aircraft to continue their trip.
The cause of the reported fumes had not been determined, and the aircraft was being inspected by maintenance crews.

A small plane crashed in Dawsonville
The following day, Sunday, Aug. 9, a small aircraft crashed near a private airfield in Dawsonville.
Dawson County Fire Chief Troy Leist said the aircraft crashed just off the airfield. One person was found outside the aircraft, while another was trapped inside the wreckage.
Both people were transported to hospitals in critical condition, according to authorities. One was taken by ground ambulance and the other by air ambulance.
Officials had not released the identities of the two people as of Sunday while family notifications were pending.
