The Savannah Police Department has arrested Victor Bernardo Salazar, 18, in connection with an accidental shooting that resulted in the death of an adult male, according to a community announcement.
The incident occurred on Aug. 21 in the 1400 block of Benton Blvd. Northwest Precinct officers responded to a reported shooting around 8:45 p.m. Upon arrival, they found the victim inside a residence with a gunshot wound to the head.
Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to Memorial Health University Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.
Salazar was detained at the scene. Following an initial investigation, he was arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter and aggravated assault.
