On Tuesday, Georgians were informed a manufacturing facility in Warner Robins is closing. But the day before, we found out another is opening.
Gov. Brian Kemp announced Cirkla is investing more than $5 million in a new plant for food packaging manufacturing. The company develops molded fiber solutions, helping brands meet packaging sustainability goals.
"Our manufacturing in India runs at scale and has validated this technology in real production environments across some of the most demanding protein categories," said Cirkla CEO Vaibhav Goel. "As U.S. demand has grown, so has the case for a domestic footprint – this facility brings that same capability closer to our customers, built for the national rollouts ahead."
What will the new Cirkla plant do?
Kemp described this as a "state-of-the-art
facility" that will support Cirkla's full portfolio of molded fiber products, including MAP and overwrap trays. It will feature patent-pending technology, precision automation, in-house quality labs, and expanded finishing capabilities.

Where is the new Cirkla plant in Georgia?
The facility will be built at the Gainesville 85 Business Center in Gainesville, about 19 miles northeast of Buford and 28 miles west of Commerce.
Gainesville Mayor Zach Thompson said he is honored Gainesville was selected for this investment and it reflects "The strength of our community, workforce, and business environment, as well as the success of the City’s partnership with Logistics Property Company in developing advanced manufacturing spaces in the Gainesville 85 Business Park."
When does the new Cirkla plant in Georgia open?
According to Packaging Insights which interviewed Cirkla's CEO, the facility's on-site production will start in the first quarter of 2027.
Cirkla careers
The new facility will reportedly create about 140 new jobs over the next three years. However, we have no information any current openings. There is nothing listed on Cirkla's LinkedIn page.
