Over a quarter of a million people could move to Georgia in one year, according to USAFacts. But where should they call home?
Last week, WorldAtlas released a list of the "cheapest beautiful towns to live in Georgia."
While they are technically cities, these are still worth checking out whether you're staying for a week or forever. Here are their housing costs according to Zillow and what WorldAtlas said about them:Beautiful towns of Georgia
Adel GA
Average home value is $177,196 with average rent of $1,150.
"Interstate 75 passes just east of Adel, close enough for easy access and far enough that no highway splits the town. Southwell Medical runs the 120,000-square-foot Cook Medical Plaza....where the surgery center has earned four Center of Excellence designations, including the first
orthopedic surgery distinction awarded in Georgia. Thousands of vultures roost in the trees each winter....Reed Bingham State Park surrounds a 375-acre lake....its edges thick with water lilies and tupelo. Gopher tortoises, limpkins, indigo snakes, and American alligators all live in it. Bald eagles also nest here."
Baxley GA
Average home value is $166,182 with average rent of $1,050.
"Appling Hospital on East Tollison Street keeps acute care in the county. Two interpretive trails run more than five miles through longleaf uplands, bottomland hardwood, and cypress slough. Gopher tortoises, eastern indigo snakes, and red-cockaded woodpeckers survive in it."
Blakely GA
Average home value is $131,029 with average rent of $1,050.
"Early Medical Center, a critical access hospital, keeps emergency care in the county....Within Kolomoki Mounds State Park stand two burial mounds and several ceremonial mounds....Rangers still lead tours of the site, and two lakes, Yohola and Kolomoki, stay open for fishing. Nine miles southwest, the Coheelee Creek Covered Bridge has crossed its creek since 1891."

Chatsworth GA
Average home value is $166,182 with average rent of $1,075.
"Alexander Blair designed the Murray County Courthouse in Classical Revival, and it has stood on Courthouse Square since 1916. Fort Mountain rises east of town, carrying an 855-foot stone wall that nobody has been able to explain....Fort Mountain State Park covers 3,712 acres around it....Trails climb through hardwood and blueberry thickets to a stone fire tower built by the Civilian Conservation Corps. A 17-acre lake below has a swimming beach."
LaFayette GA
Average home value is $227,696 with average rent of $1,350.
"Pigeon Mountain breaks away from Lookout Mountain and continues about 10 miles northeast. It ends in a flat tableland whose escarpments drop close to 1,000 feet into the pastoral V of McLemore Cove....The Crockford-Pigeon Mountain Wildlife Management Area covers 20,657 state-owned acres. Georgia Northwestern Technical College runs its Walker County campus a few miles north at Rock Spring."
Royston GA
Average home value is $269,286 with average rent of $1,236.
"The North Fork of the Broad River slices straight through a golf course at Victoria Bryant State Park. Around Royston, recreation and scenery tend to share the same ground....[The park's] 502 acres contain two fishing ponds, a summer swimming pool, a short nature trail, and a longer perimeter loop through hardwoods....Ty Cobb grew up here, and the Ty Cobb Museum has housed his records and the Franklin County Sports Hall of Fame since 1998."

Thomaston GA
Average home value is $181,792 with average rent of $1,065.
"Upson Regional Medical Center on West Gordon Street provides 24-hour emergency care and employs more than 700 people, which makes it the county's second largest employer. Ten miles west of Thomaston, the Flint River cuts through Oak Mountain, and the bluffs it has carved are the reason Sprewell Bluff Park exists."
West Point GA
Average house value is $214,708 with average rent of $1,195.
"The Chattahoochee River forms the Alabama line at West Point. Just upstream, the Army Corps of Engineers has widened it into 25,900 acres of open water. West Point Lake reaches about 35 miles up the river, wide enough in places to lose the far bank. Day-use parks, campgrounds, marinas, and fishing piers ring it....[The Kia Georgia assembly plant] is is now the largest employer in Troup County and drew a tier of parts suppliers in behind it."
