The incoming Hurricane Isaias might not be as severe for Georgia as it will be for Florida and Alabama. But there will be some impact, including to any weekend air travel plans.
FlightAware has a list on its website showing several Delta Airlines cancelations over the next few days between Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta Airport, Pensacola International, Mobile Regional, and other airports due to be impacted by the storm.
Delta's policy around these sorts of cancellations is that they will automatically rebook passengers on new flights. If they are not satisfied with the new flight, they can search for alternative flight options in the Fly Delta app or cancel the rebooked flight and receive a refund of the unflown portion of their ticket and any pre-paid
seat upgrades. For more info, go to delta.com/us/en/change-cancel/delayed-or-canceled-flight.
Will Hurricane Isaias impact Georgia?
While most of Georgia is not in the direct path of the hurricane, the entire state should expect at least rain, high winds, and other severe forms of weather. Those on the westside are most at risk, with multiple counties under a tropical storm warning. Here are the latest NWS advisories:
Hurricane Isaias landfall
Isaias is approaching the U.S. northern Gulf Coast and is likely to make landfall in the area of the Florida-Alabama border sometime tonight or early Saturday. A slight weakening is expected before reaching land, but it will remain a dangerous hurricane.
