The Georgia Department of Transportation has announced its weekly report on road work throughout Southeast Georgia. This week's list includes updates of ongoing projects, all of which are scheduled for July 25-31.
"All work is subject to change due to weather or other factors," reads a statement from GDOT. "Motorists are cautioned to reduce their speed while traveling through work zones, pay attention and watch for workers. Traffic interruptions are listed below by interstates, categories, and counties."
Bryan County
Motorists traveling through Bryan County should expect lane closures between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. at mileposts 93-91 on I-95 southbound and northbound as crews will be conducting bridge repairs.
Ramp construction is taking place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
at mileposts 142 and 143 on I-16 WB/US/280/SR30. Single lane closures are in effect at the intersection of State Route 144 and Highway 17 from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Chatham County
On I-95 North, motorists should expect lane closures from mileposts 111-112 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. A resurfacing project is taking place on I-95 north and southbound at mileposts 85-97 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Thursday and 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Friday through Sunday. A portion of these improvements run through Bryan County.
Bridge maintenance is taking place on I-516 east and westbound from mile marker six to four from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.from Louisville Road to Tremont Road. On State Route 21 from Traveler’s Way to Coldbrook Station, a nightly single lane closure is expected from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Effingham County
Shoulder closures are taking place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at mileposts 147 to 150 on I-16 east and westbound. A new traffic pattern is happening on Goshen Road for construction of the Effingham Parkway. Times have not been provided for this road project. Motorists should also expect delays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Blue Jay Road for the Effingham Parkway. Latrice Williams is a general assignment reporter covering Bryan and Effingham County.
