Cinema Savannah brings restored Japanese ghost-story masterpiece to screen

Get in the Halloween vibe as Cinema Savannah screens a 30-minute Japanese ghost story followed by the main feature, Kaneto Shindo’s “Kuroneko” (Black Cat), a masterpiece of Japanese ghost story tradition from the golden age of Japanese cinema of the 1960’s and 70’s. A new copy exquisitely restored by Criterion Pictures will be screened. The box office opens at 6 p.m. and tickets are $10, cash preferred, or advance tickets can be purchased ahead at www.cinemasavannah.com

Free outdoor concert series returns with live music under the stars

Bring your lawn chair or blanket and settle in to enjoy an evening of live music from Elli Perry, Kimberly Gunn, and Victor Solis under the stars. “Live from the Lawn” is on the lawn at the corner of MLK Jr. Blvd. and W. Oglethorpe Avenue, and the evening is free and open to all ages. Food trucks from WillYum’s and Kona Ice will be on hand for your picnicking needs! In case of rain, the event will move indoors to the Ben Tucker Theater.
