In his third year as a Calvary Day starter,James Mobley IV has developed into one of the top quarterbacks in the state of Georgia.
The senior doubles as a star center fielder on the Cavalier baseball team and Thursday night he seemed to combine both sports as he almost threw a perfect game to lead the Calvary football team to a 42-0 win in a Region 3-2A matchup with visiting Bryan County.
Mobley IV completed 13 of 14 passes for 208 yards with touchdown throws to three different receivers, all in the first half, of the dominating victory.
On the season. Mobley IV has completed 71% of his throws for 1,673 yards with 19 touchdown passes and just two interceptions for the Cavs, who improved to 6-1 overall and 2-0 in region play.
After Ca'Den Jones scored
on a 21-yard run to close out the Cavs first drive of the game, the Cavs got a short field when De'Shawn Wylie blocked a punt recovered by Brexton Bell.
On the next play, Mobley IV found Pinckney in stride down the right sideline with a 27-yard scoring strike.
At the start of the second quarter, he connected with Jalen Hicks on a perfectly thrown post pattern for a 24-yard touchdown and then closed out the half with a 5-yard touchdown pass to Marlon Knight Jr., the senior who has committed to play at Georgia Southern.

Knight Jr. had five receptions for 70 yards and the score, Pinckney had three receptions for 73 yards and the touchdown and Hicks caught three balls for 40 yards and the score.
"James throws a very accurate ball and has the ability to keep a play alive the way he moves out of the pocket," said Hicks, who is set to take a recruiting trip to Georgia Southern on Saturday. "He puts the ball exactly where I want it all the time. And James is the best leader we have. He's a role model and leads by example in a way not many people can."
Zay Middleton rushed for 43 yards and a score on 11 carries and Jones had 46 yards rushing and the score on just five carries as Calvary took a 35-0 lead at the half and got its reserves plenty of action in a second half with a running clock.

"James is a great quarterback and it all goes back to the prep he puts in every day," Calvary Day coach Jason Cameron said. "He works so hard every day with his receivers and they have the desire to improve ― I think that's the best part of this team. Bryan County is well coached and always plays hard. But I liked our approach on our home field tonight. It was a great atmosphere with our fans and that's something we don't take for granted."
