There are hundreds of high schools across Georgia, but which ones are top of the class?
On Tuesday, U.S. News & World Report released its latest rankings of best high schools in the nation. The platform partnered with RTI International to analyze schools based on six indicators, computing an overall score out of 100. Here are the Peach State's top 10.
Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science, and Technology
1st in Georgia: Located in Lawrenceville, it ranks 7th in the nation and 12th best in STEM high schools in the U.S. Scores include 100% graduation rate, 99% science proficiency, 98% reading proficiency, 30% math proficiency, 100% took at least one AP exam and 99% passed at least one.
Columbus High School
2nd in Georgia: Columbus ranked 70th overall in the nation. Scores include 100% graduation rate, 97% math proficiency,
94% reading proficiency, 88% science proficiency, 97% took at least one AP exam and 85% passed at least one.

Innovation Academy
3rd in Georgia: Located in Alpharetta and ranked 112th in the nation. Scores include 98% graduation rate, 91% science proficiency, 88% reading proficiency, 82% math proficiency, 98% took at least one AP exam and 89% passed at least one.
Davidson Fine Arts
4th in Georgia: Located in Augusta and ranked 124th in the nation. Scores include 100% graduation rate, 90% math proficiency, 88% reading proficiency, 83% science proficiency, 97% took at least one AP exam and 71% passed at least one.
Alliance Academy for Innovation
5th in Georgia: Located in Cumming and ranked 154th in the nation. Scores include 100% graduation rate, 92% reading proficiency, 90% science proficiency, 89% math proficiency, 87% took at least one AP exam and 71% passed at least one.
Elite Scholars Academy
6th in Georgia: Located in Jonesboro and ranked 227th in the nation. Scores include 100% graduation rate, 94% math proficiency, 92% science proficiency, 89% reading proficiency, 76% took at least one AP exam and 54% passed at least one.
DeKalb School of the Arts
7th in Georgia: Located in Avondale Estates and ranked 257th in the nation. Scores include 97% graduation rate, 86% reading proficiency, 66% science proficiency, 49% math proficiency, 100% took at least one AP exam and 76% passed at least one.
Northview High School
8th in Georgia: Located in Johns Creek and ranked 318th in the nation. Scores include 98% graduation rate, 80% reading proficiency, 76% science proficiency, 72% math proficiency, 80% took at least one AP exam and 70% passed at least one.
Lambert High School
9th in Georgia: Located in Suwanee and ranked 349th in the nation. Scores include 98% graduation rate, 83% reading and science proficiencies, 69% math proficiency, 79% took at least one AP exam and 69% passed at least one.
Savannah Arts
10th in Georgia: Located in Savannah and ranked 361st in the nation. Scores include 99% graduation rate, 80% reading proficiency, 75% science proficiency, 31% math proficiency, 98% took at least one AP exam and 77% passed at least one.
