On July 20, the platform released its study of the best and worst states for people in poverty. They were evaluated based on 20 metrics grouped into three larger metric areas: 'Education and transportation availability,' 'income and benefits,' and 'housing, healthcare and food.'

Why those in poverty shouldn't live in Georgia

Georgia ranked third worst overall in the study with an overall score of just under 34% landing in the bottom 10 for two of the three metric areas. Regarding the smaller metrics, Georgia was among those with the least Medicaid spending per capital and lowest minimum wage.
