Georgians don't need to travel out of state to enjoy the beautiful reds, oranges, and yellows of fall.
Earlier this month, Travel + Leisure released a list of the 14 best road trips in autumn. They reportedly
offer some of the most picturesque with stunning fall foliage.
Best Georgia road trip
Only one spot in the South made the list: Russell-Brasstown Scenic Byway in the north Georgia Blue Ridge Mountains. Travel + Leisure writer Claire Trageser said it has the beautiful foliage most often associated with New England but without the cold weather. She encouraged stopping at Brasstown Bald, Georgia's highest point and "the ultimate foliage-viewing vantage point."
Other recommended stops included Helen, Clayton, Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest, and Tallulah Gorge State Park.
